There’s still time to register as a participant to the BEYOND Policy Online Event on 30th September. Deadline for registration is the 25th September, but there’s still room for anyone interested in BEYOND. One of the goals of this event is to broaden our potential audience. Welcome new BEYONDers!
Research Misconduct has socio-economic consequences that must be urgently addressed
September 30th, 2024 – 14.00 – 15.30 CET, Zoom
This event will focus on the EU funded BEYOND project first policy brief: "Addressing the socio-economic consequences of research misconduct." During the event, Research Ethics and Integrity experts will address the importance of collaborative efforts amongst researchers, governance professionals and policymakers in reducing the incidence and impact of research misconduct on society and the economy. The event will end with a group discussion and Q&A providing the opportunity to engage with the presenters on achieving better integration of efforts reduce research misconduct and mitigate its negative impacts across research sectors.

- 14.05 – 14.20 Presentation of Policy Brief (Dr. Rowena Rodrigues, Trilateral Research & Dr. Daniel Pizzolato, European Network of Research Ethics Committees; Policy Brief authors)
- Research findings and insights:
- 14.20 – 14.30 – Aspects affecting RM identified in recent literature and cases of RM (Dr. Ian Slesinger, Trilateral Research)
- 14.30 – 14.40 – Public consultation on the needs of research stakeholders and the effectiveness of Research Ethics and Integrity policies and interventions (Dr. Signe Mežinska, University of Latvia)
- 14.40 – 14.50 – Gaps in current Research Ethics and Integrity guidelines (Prof. Tonje Lossius Husum and Dr. Alina Coman, Oslo Metropolitan University)
- 14.50 – 15.00 – Q&A
- 15.00– 15.30 – Interactive session on better integration of the research eco-system to address RM

- The event is open and free of charge, and it will be held online on Zoom. A link will be sent to registered attendees before the event.
