Part of the Horizon Europe framework, BEYOND  is developing its innovative approach to fostering a research environment that adheres to the highest ethical standards and integrity. This gathering in Riga provided an opportunity for members across the project's Work Packages and the advisory board (SAB) to discuss the progress and future directions of their collaborative efforts.

The unique approach of the BEYOND project is not just about addressing issues of research misconduct; it's about cultivating a positive research culture. The project aims to instill values and practices that ensure research is conducted with the utmost integrity, thereby strengthening public trust in science — a cornerstone for societal progress.

A particularly noteworthy development was the announcement of Ukraine joining the BEYOND consortium as a partner. This expansion signifies the project's growing influence and commitment to fostering research integrity beyond its existing scope, as well as a display of solidarity in trying times.

The presentations and their following discussions delved into the various work of the WP’s, each focusing on different aspects of research ethics and integrity, including a wide range of initiatives from developing ethical guidelines to creating training modules for researchers.

The attendance rate of members from both the work packages and the SAB was high. These experts, hailing from various research disciplines and backgrounds, brought with them a wealth of knowledge and experience, enriching the discussions and collaborations.
