An agronomist specialized in plant diseases and crop protection, Olivier Le Gall is a senior researcher at INRAe, the French national institute for research in agriculture, food and the environment. In his earlier experiences of head of the INRAe division “Plant Health and the Environment” (2006-2012) then of deputy director general for science of the institute (2013-2017), he stimulated disciplinary crosses for the benefit of challenging thematic research on agri-food systems. During this period he also facilitated the emergence and the development in the institute of open science practices and infrastructures, as well as research integrity. In the last six years he has participated directly in the setup of the French Office for research integrity, of which he chaired the advisory board from 2018 to 2023.
