Sandra Bendiscioli is a Senior Policy Officer at EMBO, primarily focusing on analyzing issues within the research system and providing evidence-based information to various stakeholders, including life science researchers, decision-makers, and policy-makers. Her work involves convening workshops with multiple stakeholders to address topics such as research assessment, peer review, research integrity, and open science. She also serves as the EMBO contact person for CoARA (Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment) and is involved in the CoARA working group on Recognizing and Rewarding Peer Review. Sandra has published on the limitations of peer review in grant-making and on options to improve funders' research assessment procedures. Additionally, she is responsible for developing discussion sessions on responsible conduct of research and regularly delivers these for the EMBO community. Sandra represents EMBO in European groups like the Initiative for Science in Europe.
