Descriprition
This deliverable reports on the pilot testing of research ethics and research integrity (RE/RI) training materials and tools developed under tasks T6.2 and T6.3. The aim was to ensure that the materials are practical, relevant, and usable across diverse research environments. Pilot testing was conducted in a representative range of research-performing organisations, including universities, non-profit organisations, national public institutes, and a private SME. This structured testing phase gathered feedback from trainers and trainees to assess how well the materials function in different institutional and disciplinary contexts.
The conclusions highlight that the pilot phase was essential for refining and strengthening the BEYOND training resources. Despite some limitations in institutional capacity that constrained piloting in certain settings, the process produced valuable insights into usability, relevance, and impact. As a result, the materials were improved to better meet the needs of early-career researchers, supervisors, and trainers. The finalised resources—such as the Trainer Guide, materials on responsible mentoring and leadership, and gamified tools—are openly available via Zenodo and will also be shared on the Embassy of Good Science platform, forming a key project output.
