About this deliverable

This deliverable reports on the development of 1) a supplementary trainer guide based on the training materials created during previous EU-funded project focusing on research ethics and integrity and 2) new training material focusing on promoting research ethics and integrity. New training materials and tools will be based findings of BEYOND, especially on hitherto neglected topics such as mentoring, supervision and leadership. The BEYOND Trainer Guide is a comprehensive resource designed for educators to promote integrity and ethical behaviour in research by teaching responsible conduct of research (RCR). It offers a detailed framework with practical tools and strategies for trainers to engage researchers in discussions, activities, and case studies, fostering deep understanding of ethical issues throughout the research process. The guide emphasizes critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and accountability, providing trainers with adaptable resources to effectively design and deliver impactful sessions tailored to various audiences, including students, early-career researchers, and experienced professionals. The training material developed by the project will focus on two specific target groups, each with their own set of RE and RI topics. Materials on responsible mentoring, supervision and leadership are prepared for senior researchers and managers. Materials for the second target group – junior and early career researchers – are developed based on a gamification approach and focusing on topics identified during the earlier phases of BEYOND.
